Silicon Slopes – Utah County’s Tech Hub
Envision Utah has done several studies on development in Utah. Some of the fastest growing cities in Utah are Lehi, Herriman and Bluffdale. Locals call the area “Point of the Mountain”. It is the hill that divides Utah County to the south and Salt Lake County to the north.
Lehi specifically has attracted several large tech firms such as Adobe, Oracle, Vivint Solar, IM Flash, Extrata, Natures Sunshine, XanGo, Workfront, and Xactware. The area has been nicknamed “Silicon Slopes”.
With many large companies locating to Utah, employees are transferring here from other states. Envision Utah predicts that by 2050, Salt Lake County is projected to have 1.5 million more people living here. Another 1.3 million will live in Utah County. Employment opportunities is one of the top reasons Utah is a great place to move to.
